The Goat Philly

I attended the Goat Media and VIP celebration. If you remember last week when I attended the opening of The Fairview, it’s the same owner, Fergus Carey. He dazzled in his white.  The Goat is a partnership between Fergie and Jim McNamara, the dynamic duo has a great gem on their hands with this one.

Located in the Rittenhouse section of the city at 1907 Sansom Street it’s nestled on the corner and named after the Billy Goat statue in Rittenhouse makes perfect sense. It’s also a play on the Greatest of All Time-I see what you did Fergie! Fun fact that I didn’t know at first was there was an online competition to help name The Goat. Talk about input from the start?! But don’t expect The Goat to play coy when it comes to the selections and drinks. The Goat packs a powerful punch and is ready to own its own. Trust me the hype is worth it. So you know how I do I am going to break it down from décor, food, atmosphere and service.

Décor

What’s more fun than one bar? Two! That’s right there are two bars. One bar at least for the Media night served up signature drinks while the other served wine. You know how I love my wine. The inside is beautiful. What caught my eyes was the very well lite lighting. Take a look for yourself:

I also loved how beautiful the floors were. I know that’s a weird observation but you can’t help but to take notice of it. Some of the décor was made of things like skateboards, etc. Shout out to interior designer Raymond Haldeman. The bars are visually stunning. It makes for a great time either for dates, happy hour, get together with friends, etc.

Drinks

The flow of drinks was amazing. I know you know I love my drinks and that all drinks are great but they aren’t. Drinks need to taste well, have amazing presentation and be strong. The Goat had all of that and more. I loved their signature drink, the Pink Goat. It’s a mix of Gin, Elderflower Liqueur, grapefruit juice, and a dash of Prosecco and cranberry. It’s good. It has the right combination for it to be in the middle between a little hint of sweet and a little sour too.

You know I always end my nights when I can with a little wine. I enjoyed the Fleurs de Prairie Rose. It was so good.

Food

I mean who comes to the bar to ONLY drink? Not me. If I am drinking I need food options too especially my on the go lifestyle. Thanks to Chef Adrian Geronimo the food at The Goat is just as appealing as its décor and drinks. The concept behind The Goat is to have a mid-priced and modern pub that offers smart choices that are delicious. People are becoming more conscience when they choose to spend their money and eat out. The world wants options that include being able to keep in line with their lifestyle changes and still affords them great tasting food and The Goat meets those demands.

Roasted Mushroom Flatbread

This was made with herbed ricotta, fontina cheese, caramelizedonions, baby arugula, and truffle oil.

Ancho Chili Braised Short Rib

It was (I didn’t personally eat it) extremely good and melted in your mouth.

Reuben Burger

Angus beef, pastrami, Swiss cheese, Napa cabbage, red onions, Russian dressing on a sesame brioche

Seitan Bulgogi Bowl

Carrots, radish, lettuce cucumber, daikon, soy ginger sauce

So as you can see there is food for every palate. They even have blackened tofu, and green Chile BBQ jack fruit sandwich that I want to go back and personally try.

The event was a success.  Media and VIP were able to have a ball while eating and drinking great options. Also there was a live band. I grew up around music my whole life and so any time live music can be incorporated into the mix I am personally here for it.

Service

The service was amazing. When I got in as most media events are the dash to the bar is long. I wanted a cocktail but started with wine. The server made me a cocktail instead of me having to switch sides. He had no idea I had a long day and just submitted a major project. Little things like that always stay with me and will keep me coming back! Even in my personal life I remember servers who go above and beyond. It matters!!

Thank you to my date of the night, Gesella. She came with me to the Fairview and I believe she had a great time as well. It’s always good times when you can come together and try new things and add more places to eat, drink, and relax!

Gesella and Alex Holley

Thank you to Aversa PR, and The Goat for the invitation. Thank you Gesella for accompanying me. I look forward to adding The Goat to my personal list of where to dine in Philadelphia.

Bodega Bar and Kitchen

I had the pleasure of attending the Media and VIP night for the grand opening of the Bodega Bar and Kitchen. I was impressed with their offerings as well as their drinks so let’s break this down on what you can expect from this new venture by brothers, Alex and Stavros Vasiliadis and business partner, George Karagiannis.

This Latin inspired will feature live music, upbeat atmosphere, Latin cuisine and the most amazing hand-crafted drinks. The inside is glorious and full of color and personality. Where can you find all of this and more? Of course, Bodega Bar and Kitchen located at 1223 Walnut Street and it opens this Friday.

I highly recommend that you at the Bodega on to your night scene. It serves as a great way to grab drinks after a long day of work. If you and a loved one love Latin infused food this would make a great date night as well especially with the lighting. Its going to be a crowd pleasure for sure. I am not sure how many Media and Influencers were there, but it was jammed pack. The Bodega Bar and Kitchen is 950 square feet of space that is extremely Instagrammable due to the 20 feet high ceilings. The bar is 19 feet long and is made from a reclaimed Pennsylvania Sycamore tree. I found some gems that were beautifully obvious and some hidden ones as well. It’s stunning inside. That alone is super inviting.

Look for more seats and patio to be placed to hold more seating as well in the Spring.  Inside now it can hold up to 60 seats.

Little fact, the space used to be a nail salon. When you look at the insides you wouldn’t even be able to tell and that make me love it more. Some of the materials inside also include articles from the owner’s travel. I love that touch of inspiration. Traveling and being able to see the items from your travel inside of your business is like a vision board dream.

Food

Everyone loves to eat and when you are out and about like myself and want to grab a few drinks, food needs to be close in proximity. I will tell you the offerings from the Media event were unique and extremely good.

The Crispy Brussels

Served with Mimolette fondue, apple, and focaccia these are not your average Brussel sprouts. Bursting with flavor these would many any non-veggie eater into a full-on believer.

Beet Soup and Salad

Served with Trout Roe, Quinoa, and Hazelnut it was surprising my favorite of the night.

Tasso Corn Beignets

I loved the Red Eye ice-cream, and powered bacon fat was different for me, but it was delicious as well.

In my opinion the highlight of most of everyone’s delight had to be the Pretzel Fried Pastrami Chicken. It’s the one thing that I kept noticing everyone going for. The smiles from ear to ear let me know that although for me it didn’t beat out the Brussel Sprouts it was everyone else’s delight. It was crispy, good, and hot. I can’t lie and say it wasn’t a runner up to the sprouts but it’s a contender.

Going forward the menu will break down from garden, snacks, entrees, sandwiches, desserts, and a luxury treat selection.

I want to shout out the Chef, Shain Wancio. Some of the parings of food I had never had together but the way it was prepared made me a believer.  Presentation to me is everything when you present food to people and the way the care was taken even with so many of us in the room made me super happy to see.  I definitely cant wait to try the extensive food offerings.

Drinks

Everyone that I know likes a good drink. You already know how I feel. It’s the one reason why I have started a gallon of water a day challenge with my friends so I can reward my evenings with amazing drinks in the city. Bodega Bar and Kitchen has 4 signature drinks Especial Margarita, Ginger Rodriquez, The Diplomat, and The Gypsy Ramblas.

I had the Ginger Rodriquez, and the Especial Margarita.

Let me tell you about the Especial Margarita. I had one made for me at the bar and it was good. Nice and strong but it was something even better about it when I had another later shared with Kory Aversa of Aversa PR and that one was probably the best traditional margarita I have EVER had. I feel as if when it comes to margaritas if you have had one you have had them all but this one tops everyone I have ever had since I began drinking at 21. That within itself speaks whole volumes.

The Ginger Rodriquez is good as well. It’s made of Orendain Reposado Tequila (which I swore off since college), 10 Ginger Syrup, Lemon-lime juice, and Bar spoon mezcal.

I always end my night if I can with some form of wine and I had the Segura Vidas Sparking Rose and it was amazing like add it to my list of bottles to purchase.

If you don’t like cocktails or wine and want beer keep in mind that Bodega Bar and Kitchen will also have a beer program that will include beer, ciders, and seltzers too.

So, I need you to come in and look around for yourself starting this Friday. You might come in for a drink and find that you want to try the food. When you do try it, you will absolutely love the experience.

Hours will be Monday-Friday from 11am until 2am. Also, on Saturday-Sunday it will open from 9am-2am. Happy hour will run Monday-Friday from 5-7pm. Live music along with recorded music will go from Wednesday-Saturday from 10pm until 2am. So now you can eat, drink, and dance if you would like.

Congratulations Bodega Kitchen and Bar. Thank you and Aversa PR for the invite. You will be seeing me, just be sure to have my Margarita ready and I’ll be in to dance!

The Fairview

I had the opportunity to attend the Media and VIP Grand Opening party and it was amazing. I love how even with as many celebrants there were it still was more than enough space to take everything in. As a blogger I had immense fun but as always, I always take a step back to grade it on its practicality of when a patron comes in. There is a lot of offerings at the Fairview and I am going to break it all down for you.

Food

I loved the options they presented us with for the Media Party.  There were a little something for everyone.

We started off with a cheese board. Most people enjoy them.  From the arrangements of cheese offerings, it made it a great start on the menu.

They also had bruschetta-red pepper and artichoke bruschetta. It was delicious.

They also shrimp skewers.  For those who don’t have an allergy to shell fish the shrimp was busting with flavor. For those who do they had an equally delicious chicken skewer.

The Fairview Burger slider was amazing as well.

For me the highlight was the Chicken Fried Seitan Sandwich. I had at least 3 of them. The crisp alone will have you coming back.

Drinks

They had a great offering of cocktails. I especially loved the Fairview Old Fashioned. It had Bullleit Bourbon Amarena, cherries, and spiced maple syrup. I also enjoyed my white wine as well.

The Fairview has dishes for all palettes. From vegan and vegetarians to meat eaters alike you will be pleased.

Let me tell you about the service. During Media events often it’s a free-flowing atmosphere meaning we usually grab drinks at the bar or a central location.  At The Fairview they had the free-flowing environment as well as they had servers serving us and taking care of us. The servers were on point. It was refreshing. If the tone needed to be set, they set the tone high with great expectations.

Pictured with Fergie Carey and Gesella Morocho

The atmosphere of The Fairview is super relaxed. This is a place to have an incredible date night. The blue lighting already sets the mood. I was a bit frazzled from my Uber ride and the blue literally relaxed me well before the drinks. I hope they plan on keeping the colors as is because it’s really a highlight.

Pictured from left to right; Gesella, Phillyfoodgal; and Eventsbykb

Fergie Carey, Dave Dollinger, and Shane Dodds have turned elegant gastropub food and made it into a full-on dining experience. The Fairview is located at 601 N. 21st street and they are open Monday-Thursday from 11:30-11pm; Friday 11:30-midnight; Saturday 10:30-midnight; and Sunday from 10:30-11:30pm. Thanks to Chef Beth Fox the food was amazing.  I definitely will take my husband on a night out just to see his face in the pretty blue lights. Make The Fairview apart of your placed to dine. It is an added food blessing to the Fairmount area!

Thank you to The Fairview, and Aversa PR for the invitation. Thanks you Gesella for being my date for the evening!

Las Bugambilias; A Chain who?

When you think of authentic Mexican food and a chain comes to mind you are most DEFINITELY not eating well. I mean I get it right, some of the chains seem to have appeal but real authenticfood should always and forever be celebrated and that’s where Las Bugambilias comes in. Let’s also note that Las Bugambilias is family owned and that makes a difference when a restaurant takes pride in how and what they serve. Las Bugambilias food was nothing short of amazing and I was blown away. Let me tell you why your “Mexican” chain could never…..

This gem is located on South Street and has a very special place in my heart. So what’s my review? You know by now I grade on service, food, atmosphere, and real life accommodations. The real reasons are clear, if I go to a media review I have to step back push to view it as a consumer, however this wasn’t a media review and I attended under my own guidance.

Greeting

I was greeted with a full, bright smile. Pure interaction from the very beginning. Not the type where people look at you, acknowledge you for a split second or ignore you altogether. Smiles and small talk. I didn’t identify myself at all. I like to hold out for as long as I can to see what type of vibes I get and the vibes were truly amazing and home like. I eventually identified myself and all was well as it had started. Let me also preface I had originally had a 1:30pm reservation but my husband got injured and I had to push it back to 6. Las Bugambilias was extremely accommodating. Whether they were busy or not it didn’t come off in the phone call. We all know how those go when someone rushes you off the line. That eased my own anxiety as I had to turn my blog life off to be a wife. I was able with ease come in and the service was EXTREMELY well.

Service

Norma was the sweetest server. She knows her stuff and without asking, she was on it. My cup never went low. When I needed an extra table to be able to get my shots and just to accommodate my order, she brought it over to me. Everyone serviced by her was smiling and well attended and it was pretty full since it was dinner time. She just gets it. She smiled every time she came in contact with patrons the entire night. You can tell that’s her real demeanor because I might have given a smile a few times but she has a general upbeat personality.

Food

The food which should be a great appeal to those who love Mexican food was so outstanding. I took my picky twin sister. She loves Mexican food but she can still be semi-picky but not only did she eat all of her food, she definitely ordered more. I had never seen her do that before. The food was hot. I don’t know what sorcery stove they are working with but you will NEVER be able to complain about some hot food. Not the type that is burning you but the type where you appreciate it eating right. There’s only ONE other restaurant that has gotten my food that hot before. The taste of the food is great. Everything is made to order and fresh. Norma made sure she described the severity of some of the sauces. This is great since I like spicy food but I wasn’t trying to be choking spicy either. She helped me order the right amount of spice so I could enjoy it! See the quality for yourself:

Enchiladas Vegetarians

Sopa de Vegetal

Enfrijoladas

Drinks

I had the Sour Cherry Margarita. I am never going to any Mexican restaurant and not ordering a margarita. It’s not going to happen. At Las Bugambilias they have 8 flavored margaritas including the traditional one. They have a wide selection of other liquor, wine and beer. The bar is well stocked and you can select your tequila brand etc. I personally loved the Sour Cherry. It wasn’t over sweet.  Some flavored drinks have so much sugar content that it takes away from it but not this one. They don’t assume you want sugar or salt they kindly ask. I have been at some other places and they just make the decision for you.

Regret

The ONLY thing I regretted was not getting dessert but I was honestly too full to eat.  I’ll make that a must have the next time I go!

Atmosphere

It’s a family owned restaurant and they have open seating. You are seated but if there is something open they do allow you to sit where you want to sit. They have smaller tables but they can be combined to make room for bigger parties too.  This is still intimate to sit and have a great date night or grab a drink at the bar after work with co-workers. I honestly think you could bring a group of friends and with the margaritas have an entire great time. Keep in mind they have food for all. They had vegetarians, pescetarians alike too. The menu is quite something to behold.

Accommodations

There were about 2 families with kids who mimicked my kidsage and some that were younger. They are definitely used to having kids in the restaurant from the way they interacted with them. My kids except my oldest two are Mexican food eater so I could definitely see me bringing them back. My youngest and niece would have to sit this one out. They don’t have a kids menu but the way my kids are set up they are moving past that even at 8 and 10.  They do however accommodate kids so don’t let me not make it sound like they don’t. The staff was completely hands on with the families who had kids.  The kids loved it especially when dessert came!!!

Wine Dive Philly

So, I am a Wino for all intent purposes. I love a great wine. I have wine shirts and there’s never a time when I don’t have a bottle or more in my home. I believe that wine drinkers are the best folks on the planet. Too far? Not for such an occasion as the Wine Dive. This is going to attract all the wine lovers to come and have a sip or more and I am here for it. I know everyone has their vice, but this swanky new spot is going to be the talk of the town.

What makes Wine Dive so special?

You can come in and chat and chew with your friends at the bar or grab a table. They offer a huge selection of wine, cocktails, beers and ciders for you to include your friends who aren’t wine enthusiast.  They also have an amazing wine cellar that you can choose a bottle for any occasion to take with you as well. The bottles are the cutest as you sit across from your wine friends and catch up. I literally can’t wait to grab a couple of girlfriends in the near future and make this our spot. The Wine Dive combines having the convenience of a wine store and bar mixed. The idea is to come and grab a bottle but stay for a glass before you head out. The Wine Dive is going to make and mix socializing and wine buying as a great marriage of fun.

The media and VIP nights are always a fun time. Aversa PR hada huge crowd. From the small bites to the wines and cocktails it made for a fun evening. I loved how by the way Wine Dive is attached to the Cambridge that we were able to try out cocktails from both sides as well too. The seating in the Wine Dive is nice and makes for less crowded space than your contemporary bar.  It allows a more intimate style seating for you and your guests. Keep in mind if you’re drinking wine you sort of need that. I love getting cozy while sipping and if I am going out, I need my lighting etc. to reflect the same. Wine Dive has you covered.

So, let’s give you all the information you need to know, shall we?!

Price Point and Fuss

The Wine Dive has all price points in mind. If you aren’t balling but more like balling on a budget like most you still can have your wine or wine cocktail (try the Red Queen) at a price that won’t break the bank.  It’s affordable and right at the point where you can enjoy without having to overthink lunch for the week.

Red Queen

FYI The Red Queen is made of Red Wine, Averna, Old Granddad, lemon, and herbs! Its strong trust me and worth it!

Pony Up

I also had the Pony Up which I am glad I tried. It’s made of Miller High Life Pony and Lafi. Gentian amaro shot! It’s quite pleasant together!

Décor

It’s inviting. I love the artwork. Its gorgeous too.  It has a 70s Vegas feel to it and its comfy. This was a media event for me but while I am there, I am always looking at it from a consumer look and feel. If I were to entertain my girlfriends what would the vibe be?!  I think the vibe is fresh and swanky. Dark enough to feel exclusive but great enough to get amazing pictures. The juke box is also something that will get many people moving and dancing if they feel it too!  What was my favorite décor? I think the mirrors on the wall. I loved them.  I kept having my eyes go to them they are a definite conversation starter.

Options Anyone?

Yes, there are at least 215 options with about 50 natural wines, bubbly and cider to choose from.  There are 20 by the glass options as well. I am sure as they progress there will be more added including the option to have your bottle filled like a draft and corked for you to take home.  I would say that smashes options on its feet.

How is the Staff?

Every bar has staff that is knowledgeable about the products if they are smart. However, there is a difference in knowledge and love for your job. The bartenders love their job. When at a media event I watch to see how they handle pressure. You need someone who can take a lot of orders, smile, and keep their wits. Wine Dive staff handled that and more. They didn’t just take our orders they made sure they provided an experience.

The Wine Dive will absolutely be my go-to spot. I go to a lot of media events and I can always tell the ones that grab me because I talk to my husband about let’s plan a night.  He was with me and he’s not an avid wine drinker like I am however he absolutely enjoyed The Most Curious Thing which is a cocktail on the Cambridge side that is made with Lamb Washed Whiskey, Rosemary Sour, and Red Wine. It was good I must admit.

I also enjoyed the Mad Tea Party.  It was made with Gin, Apricot Tea, Lime Juice, and Club Soda.

Thank you to Wine Dive and Aversa PR for the invite. I already know I will be in the building and I can’t wait for another Red Queen!

The Wine Dive opens officially on Friday at 11am. Take my word for this and shot me a message and let me know how you liked it. To my Philly girlfriends please be on the lookout for an invite from me so we can go and be loving winos for the night! For my out to town girlfriends, if you are here for more than 2 nights expect one night to be at the Wine Dive its that serious! Let’s do this!

Thank you to best date of a lifetime, my husband, Marques!

Wine Dive is located at 1506 South Street in Philadelphia PA!

Arden Children’s Theatre Presents: Snow Queen

I have 3 angry little children in my house. They had no idea that I would be attending the show; The Snow Queen. However I will be changing that. This was my first time at the Arden Children’s Theatre. As you know I love theatre and think that all people should have the opportunity to attend shows. I’m glad to know that Arden Theatre feels the same and donates tickets to children and patrons who might not otherwise have the opportunity. This is due in large to patrons donating a ticket price at the end of their shows.

There are so many reasons why Snow Queen gets a great two thumbs up!

When I see a show I try to view it from many different angles. Although I attended the show with Phillyfoodgal and it seemed as if we were the only ones who didn’t have kids with us it really is a show for all ages. It’s witty, dynamic and most importantly interactive.

Length of Show

I thought the length of the show was just right. It wasn’t too short which I thought it might be since it is a children’s theatre. Because is it’s interactive nature it has an intermission about 45 minutes into the show right as the kids wanted to begin being antsy. There was a set of kids behind us and they did well and were about the same ages of my youngest children. From the lights and actions The Snow Queen kept all of the kids right in the action!

Interaction

Depending on where you sit there is snow falling which the big kid in me loves. Beach balls and other interactive play happening at one time. It adds to the kids sensory play in my opinion. It’s the perfect way to hold the kids attention. For theatre at such a young age it’s perfect. Let me also give a great compliment to the actors who held a question and answer afterwards. Their ability to help the children formulate their questions without making them feel bad was the best.

Actor Alex Bechtel speaking to a child after the performance

Will the kids love it?

Absolutely yes! It’s a great family time show that kids of all ages will love. The story follows the Snow Queen as she attempts to a “loyal” subject to help fix her mirror. In this quest it takes Gerda on a seasonal trek to find out about herself and her abilities. The whole cast turns into a life size dream world to help facilitate the changing of seasons. It’s colorful, bold, filled with amazing songs and each actor has such a stage presence that even the characters who you don’t want to like you love! Your child will have much to talk about once leaving this show. FYI it’s not Frozen. I know a lot of the kids near me kept saying it but by the time they left they instinctively had a clear line. Also they do a great job talking lightly about topics such as anxiety. I loved this since kids of all ages and a lot of adults deal with it! Making it normal because it is a normal part of life stuck out to me!

Things to know

The stage is round in the sense. There are marked off yellow lines like construction lines so that you don’t cross over. I would encourage kids to go to the bathroom prior to the show but if like kids they have to go during there is only 2 ways to leave the theatre and you will be directed.

There is a concession stand for food and drinks. You can bring them into the theatre. Allot about 10-15 minutes prior to the show to grab them as the lines can be long. The prices aren’t bad either! Oh the cups they have the cups with the sippy like tops! These cups even for adults are amazing and provide a keepsake to take home!!

Daniel Ison plays Cei and a Troll

Please consider donating at the end of your show. Right now they have a donor willing to match each donation. It takes $14 dollars to send a kid who wouldn’t otherwise be able to attend a show and now that one $14 with the match sends 2 kids to a show! That’s super amazing to me. I was exposed to theatre because my mother majored in it and had grown up with it her whole life. Not everyone has that as their story line. Often outside of a movie that’s the only acting that some kids think about because of lack of exposure.

Snow Queen played by Katherine Fried

Little known gem: The Cat and the Hat is coming in the Spring. I will be in the building with my 3 kids for sure! I also can’t wait to see it in the Spring.

Eunice Akinola plays Gerda and Troll

Jo Vito Ramirez plays John, Fred, Troll, Robber and Narcissus

To the actors

You had such amazing charisma. I was sitting there like a big kid enjoying every minute because you brought each character to life. You did above and beyond to make me see you as your individual characters. All of your stage presence was seen. Afterwards thank you for taking pictures with me too!

Alex Bechtel plays Mr. Oversku, JJ, Bae, Snow Drop, and Troll

Thank you to Phillyfoodgal for inviting me. I had the best time. Thank you to Bryan Buttler Media for the arrangements. Thank you to the Arden Theatre Company. I love what you are doing. Thank you to ALL staff who helped even the volunteers of the night!

Mary Fishburne plays Mrs. Fyn, Rose, Robber, and Troll

I look forward to the Spring Show as well as bringing my own to this show.

Jenna Kuerzi plays Elisa, Lil, Robber Girl, Bindweed, and Troll

FYI the Snow Queen ends January 26th. This is plenty of time to take your family to see this. I also highly recommend it while the kids are out of school. Although the gift giving is almost over I would recommend the gift of theatre. Kids have enough toys gift them experiences! For tickets click here!

2019 Christmas Recap

Oh what an interesting holiday we had. Every year I have learned to keep a sense of humor and I had to laugh a little to keep my sanity going. This one was definitely for the books.

Its Getting Hot in Here, or Naw

So 2 days before Christmas I get up and I feel all kinds of cold. I thought let me turn the heat up only to find that after a few minutes the temperature dropped more. I immediately wake my husband and we discovered the ignitor was broken. We call over someone to take a look at it and now because of the holiday we have to wait a day for the part to come in. So thankfully we had some space heaters which are more like fans instead of the old school ones I grew up with to keep us warm. At first in my mind I’m like this is no big deal however it triggered a feeling of complete panic! I questioned if the part would come in or if we would spend the next few days cold. Now grant it; the temperature was 50 during the day and I’m grateful it happened during the warmer Winter days instead of the colder ones!

Christmas Stomach Bug Anyone?

There was and still is a stomach bug going around so please be aware. My son got it Saturday morning. My niece got it on Saturday night while we were doing Gingerbread houses. Someone in her daycare got it and it spread like flies. I just knew we would be in the clear. Back to my son who seemed to be over it after a few hours only for it to return Monday morning and this time with a vengeance. My daughters had it by Tuesday morning. So I couldn’t wrap gifts each night while taking care of sick kids. I prayed that no adults got it. My kids bounced back like nothing and I was concerned in bringing my kids to my sister in laws house but she reassured me that her kids already had something and would be fine.

Christmas Day

After making cookie dough at 5 am the day before, making all food when I could separate my kids from the downstairs and re cleaning and sanitizing my home I was able to sit back and enjoy what was the holidays. My hope is always for my kids to have a great day. For them to remember what the season is all about and for them to just have time with family.

We went from this:

To this:

Paper everywhere, kids all over the place, and smiles all around! Even if it looks a total mess that’s what most houses look like on Christmas Day!

My kids got up around 7:30am! For kids that’s late. However I was happy as I went to bed at about 1am from doing laundry, cooking, wrapping and organizing! So parents definitely won!! After our own Christmas and a great Christmas breakfast we hopped on the road to visit with my siblings, parents and family.

My sister in love hosted the celebration this year and she did a great job! We played Cards against Humanity. A lot of fun to play and even more hilarious to play with your parents! That’s all I can say!

My sweet niece!

We also went to my grandparents house to see extended family. I had not been in a few years for Christmas. It was a great visit. I wasn’t expecting the kids to get things but they definitely were blessed!

Niece and cousin

To say that we had a great day is an understatement. We were able with technology see my grandma on my mom’s side instead of just talking to her. The kids were able to show her what they got. We were able to see she was okay and provided for. We saw my other set of grandparents and aunts. The kids had an amazing holiday. I’ll do my holiday recap video today or tomorrow!

I really do hope you all had a great day!!! Our family has a complete day! Luckily they were so tired we all slept in until about 10! That’s a Christmas miracle if ever there was one!!
