Paris owes me Nothing Part 4

So to end Paris as if it will ever end, it was the last full day before a day of travel. We decided to send a few post cards back. So of course we stopped at the post office, went to a museum, ate well and one last trip to the Eiffel Tower to tour the inside of it!

Shout out to the postman who handled our post cards. It’s so funny when the French switch to English cause they can see how much of a struggle Americans have to speak fluent French.

Now I could have since it was included in our hotel price to eat the breakfast provided. The way them nightly or all day is wines were set up I needed to sleep it off!! Kyla my girl was on go daily and so she did her morning ritual of going to get her food way before we woke up! Marques and I after the post office stopped at Metro Cafe. The food was amazing and so was the service.

This pumpkin soup needed no salt; no nothing simply delicious

Americans do French fries which isn’t a French dish better

The fresh squeezed orange juice was absolutely amazing

I had so much daily ros√© it don’t make no sense

His shirt reads, Broke Phi Broke and that makes sense

So after an amazing brunch like moment it was off to a museum!

We 3 decided to go to Museum Picasso. The Art was exquisite. Different genres all meshed and beautifully stunning, provocative, and engaging!

After which we were hungry again but hey when you are walking around for hours at a time it’s bound to happen! We stopped at one restaurant but it was their dinner time or that’s the way it came off as we sat for quite some time. The French don’t move as steadily on service like we do in America. We are more concerned in increasing numbers of those that come into an establishment over making sure that those around have an experience.

We finally stopped at Pizza Pino!

This lemon sorbet with vodka had me so super rocked……that’s all I can say on that

It was off to our final rendezvous with the Eiffel Tower. Unlike seeing it on a boat, seeing it lit at night and being in touching form, this was about going inside. The tickets that we got gave us access to the first and second floor. The very top was sold out for days!! The experience was more than I could put into words! Seeing Paris in a different light was just breathtaking.

As you can see Paris looks even more amazing inside the Eiffel Tower!

Brioche with Nutella it was necessary

After a long night it was time for one last meal…and more of that lemon sorbet and vodka at Mon Coco!

Veggie burger that would put an American veggie burger to shame

The star of the night; lemon sorbet with vodka…..

After beautiful days in Paris, it was time to return home. Lessons learned, Paris was an amazing experience! I would do it all over again! I’m grateful for this time and happy for a semi easy travel time outside of an extended search on the way home in ūüáģūüáł Iceland!

I was loving the fact that in their airport it’s very different than an American airport where food is concerned. Vegan, vegetarian options are plentiful!

Finally back home, finally with our children, finally back on Go it was nice to slow it down a bit!

Paris owes me nothing but I’m grateful that I took the journey!

Thank you Ray and Chrystal for the invite none of this would have happened without your wedding invite nudging it along. May your union be filled with tenacity, and the joy that life brings!

Thank you Kyla for accompanying and being on this trip.

Thank you Marques for making sure that every desire I had you made come true. Thank you for renewing a clear path in how we love and live and being each other’s friend as we go through this life as partners, parents, and solid and dope individuals!

Thank you Paris for such amazing culture, hospitality, and just overall greatness!!

Paris owes me Nothing Part 3

Time to be tourist! After a long sleep we were up and out! We passed Pont d’ Arcole to get to Notre-Dame Cathedral. We took the metro. That was an interesting adventure. It was crazy to see what the fire took of the Cathedral. I hope it will be repaired as soon as possible. They also had a lot of armed guards there and a lot of police in the area.

Esmeralda

It started to rain so we stopped at Esmeralda, a restaurant that looks towards the Cathedral where I enjoyed a crepe filled with bananas and chocolate and wine. My husband had a hamburger and fries which was hilarious as I informed him he at least celebrated national hamburger day! My girl Kyla enjoyed her fries and wine! We decided we were going to keep walking and hit up some more sights but not before I had my real banana gelato! It’s so much better here than in the States.

Shakespeare and Company

I’m such a nerd but I spotted a book store and not just any store; Shakespeare and Company book store. I was in Heaven! Floors of books and old fashioned ladders to get the books that are higher up. It was a little more modern than I expected but I was in pure bliss!

Pont des Arts

Near Pont des Arts I spot a clown. Yes a clown! I want a picture with him. He takes one of me by twirling me, Marques snaps a few pics, and then he has me and Marques take some of just he and I! The clown grabs Marques and snaps some of him by having him hold his leg and attempts to kiss him. The laughter alone….don’t worry no clowns were harmed!

Louvre Museum

The day we visited it’s closed. So of course we continue to take pics at the Louvre Pyramid and Tuileries Garden! It was still an amazing time. Everyone was smiling and having the time of their life even though it soon started raining!

Place de la Concordé

This tall statue is so breathtaking with its golden tip. I’m amazed at how much history and architecture is in Paris. If you love both you will be blown away.

Champs-√Člys√©es

This section of Paris is beautiful and rich. From the shopping and fashion district to the history, cathedrals, beautiful gardens I’m super glad we didn’t miss this. Also we stopped at the Arc de Triomphe.

Body Attack

Most folks would do this high level of working out prior to going on vacation but since working out is a lifestyle and not just a swimsuit ready venture, my girl Kyla had us at Les Cercles de la Forme to take a body attack class. Kyla teaches it in the States. I have taken her class and she’s very official. The class in Paris which was like one door down from our hotel, was just as intense. Kyla needed no help with the routine as she knew it! It felt good to work out with her! Glad she found the class even though she tried to kill me!

Buffalo Grill

It was definitely time to eat after all of that waking and workout! So we ventured to Buffalo Grill! It’s hard to eat for me since I’m vegan and the French love their meat and cheese. I had to make a lot of adjustments to make it vegan approved but we made it happen! I had about 25 ozs of wine and made sure I ate bread and whatever vegan options I could make up. They had steaks etc.

Eiffel Tower Take 2

So although we did see the Eiffel after the wedding on the boat, seeing it lit at night was amazing! I mean having to almost break our necks to get a justifiable picture wasn’t an easy task but we did it! It was amazing in all of his glorious lights! It’s the simple everyone knows Paris by! It is unifying and pure joy! I don’t think I smiled that hard in quite some time!

Paris day 3….

Girlfriends are the Spice of Life: Happy Galentines Day

Galentine’s Day is the day that we girls can profess our love to our best girl friends! There is something about having amazing girlfriends in your life who can support you, love you, and stand with life turns left. I used to hear woman talk about how they didn’t need female friends and as I get older I realize that most times not having female friends has more to do with the person than anything. It’s not about having a full tribe in numbers as it is about having quality friends.

img_1189

Also having girlfriends and being mature to go through things and learn to say sorry. One of the things I am being tested with my girlfriends is knowing that just because you have longevity with one another that being comfortable with one another is a great thing. One of the things I would encourage friends to do is to not lose mutual respect. Comfortability doesn’t mean you don’t consider your friend’s feelings.¬† No one needs a mother of the group. We need friendship, someone to listen to each other, and someone to simply be there!

img_1552

I have amazing girlfriends and some who my relationships have withstood the tests of time and I honored for their friendship and how it has evolved even during the moments i didn’t understand.¬† I am grateful that a lot of my girlfriends have been sisters to me and that at times has mattered most at the times of my life when i wasn’t sure how i would literally make it to the next day. I have evolved with them and that remaining love that we share has been nothing short of amazing. If you have an amazing girlfriend, let them know today and every day you care.¬† Women supporting women is an amazing thing!

Chicago The Wind Down; May 9, 2017

So I just had the most amazing time with my girls.  To say that I had fun would be an understatement.  If you are looking to come to Chicago but don’t like to eat or walk this is not the city for you.  There is so much to do and no time to do it all.  I really can’t stress the food enough.  I am glad I came now that I have gotten my weight under control.  The amount of food and good food we had was on overload.  I didn’t eat at an eatery I didn’t like.  The reception from Chicago natives was so warm and welcoming that I felt like I was in the South.

First of all let me send my most heart-felt condolences to the two victims of Chicago gang shooting that took place on Sunday.  I nor my girlfriends were in the area however we definitely kept watch of our surroundings. Let’s be clear, watching our surroundings had nothing to do with us being in Chicago but it was more of a common sense issue.  At no time regardless of where you live or visit should you let your guard down.  I also pray a speedy recovery to those 10 victims who were shot as well.  Chicago is not the mecca of violence as they have been described.  Violence happens everywhere.  However its important for the city of Chicago to come together because the violence definitely needs to stop.

I was the first of the girls to get into town.  I was able to check in without any issues.  If you are ever in the city please stay at the Kimpton Gray.  Is it pricey?  Yes, but if you want to have a relaxing stay with an upgraded flare they are the ones to provide it.  I was greeted with a mimosa.  Drinks are always a great way to start a girls trip.  The room itself was spacious, clean and very eye-catching.  Although I arrived at almost 11 am they allowed me to check in right away where I was able to catch a quick nap before the others arrived.  The staff was amazing throughout our stay.  The free happy hour daily was always a good plug too.  They treated us well.

Our first stop once most of us got situated was to the Broken English restaurant.  It was Cinco de Mayo on Friday so finding an authentic restaurant with good food and good margaritas was a must.  They didn’t disappoint.  It was a bit crowded but to be expected.  The drinks were strong and tasty.  We had a great time.  We did a lot of walking and ended up in Millennium Park.  However not before we discovered that we needed some chapstick due to the winds that Chicago is known for. The joke of the day is that we were able to share one of our girls chapstick aka the dickless chapstick as none of us had any near us or near our mouths before we came.  Hey who else can you talk junk with if not with your girls?!

We loved it at the Millennium Park.  The “bean” or the cloud as it is officially is called was my favorite.  I love the city’s architect.  The buildings were larger than life.  You could see the flare in each building.  I spent so much time looking up and admiring everything.  We decided to end our night with a late dinner at RPM Italian which is an Italian restaurant that is a collaboration that includes celebrity Bill and Giuliana Rancic.  The restaurant is beautiful.  I loved the food and the drinks. The portions were all you needed and it wasn’t over bearing at all.  We didn’t say anything at first that we were there celebrating mine and my girl Toi’s birthday.  The hospitality was great.  Once they did know it was our birthdays they brought us the most amazing gelato mini cones.  I did order orange sickle gelato.  Let me say it may have been my new favorite dessert. I have never had it at any other restaurant and it definitely is a memorable dessert to have again if I can.

The next day it was off to the Bongo Room for brunch.  Their drinks were amazing.  Yes I told you there was a lot of eating and drinking on this trip.  They had a little wait so we went to walk around and ran into a gem of a clothing store called Personal Priviledge (www.personalpriviledge.com) and if you are looking for trendy pieces but don’t want to spend a lot I would recommend them.  Ladies, they have ALL sizes from the small to the beautiful plus ladies too.  We were all pretty much walking out of the store with something.  I got 2 little items that I can’t wait to wear and have a little fun.  Oh did I mention they made each of us feel like we were the only ones in the store and of course the mango margaritas while shopping was a great touch.  Back to the Bongo room where the food was so good.  We took the L and the bus and headed over to the Navy Pier.  We took a ride on the ferris wheel and it overlooked the city. Did a little shopping as well as stopped at Margaritaville for some drinks before heading to happy hour at the hotel.

We enjoyed a wonderful meal at the South Water Kitchen.  I am telling you we looked up all of these places and read reviews.  Why go somewhere and know you may have bad food?  This was a mini vacation.  We weren’t about to cook a meal and we wanted good food and drinks and like I said Chicago’s DNA fit what we needed.  We walked, took the L, bus, Uber and Lyft.  The only form of transportation we didn’t take was the horse and carriage that we passed during our food tour.

Another stop was the Skydeck located at the Sears Tower.  So being up at literally the highest point in the city without a helicopter was such a treat.  The Skydeck was fun.  We had a great time and yes the ledge was everything you read and more.  We had a little time adjusting even the ones who don’t have height issues.  However we made it through and it made it some instant fun as we went to our Tastebuds walking food tour.  I was full by the end.  Our first stop was to Pizano’s for deep dish that Chicago is known for.  This location was the original location.  I am a fan of the deep dish cheese.  We had sausage too but the cheese had more of a kick to me.  They do have thin crust as well.  Apparently people don’t realize that Chicago makes a mean thin crust but they do.  Next stop was to More cupcakes (morecupcakes.com) where they have some of the best cupcakes I have had in a long time.  I am talking about flavors like bacon maple to everyone’s favorite red velvet.  Oh and I included the website because these beauties can be shipped all over the world.  They are worth it.

The next place was the Drake hotel where the ambiance is amazing.  The way that this hotel goes out of its way to excite your eyes with their floral designs is a game stopper.  They also have a beautiful tea room.  Oh let’s not mention their women’s bathroom was nominated for best bathroom and it’s not like any bathroom I have ever been in.  It was off to have one of the best hotdogs I have ever eaten.  My girl Cicely doesn’t even eat beef and was going to just try a bite but at first bite she said if I get sick it was worth it, it was one “damn good” hotdog.  By the way it was at Downtown Dogs that you can find it.  We ate the hotdog at Pippins Tavern.  The bartender was amazing.  I ordered a beer and then my girl Cicely bought me a shot.  However when the bartender found out it was my birthday he gave me a shot of Malort. Malort is what sets you apart from being a true Chicago native.  Apparently they give this to tourist to give them a “taste” of Chicago.  I was the only one who had it and it was awful.  I can take a shot but this was on another level.  I can’t begin to put into words how bad it tasted or smelled.  All I know is that I got through it.  The next stop was the Billy Goat.  This is a hamburger spot that was made famous by the owner, William Billy Goat Sianis.  He befriended a goat and was denied entry into Wrigley Field with the goat and he cursed the Cubs therefore the Billy Goat curse.  It was made further famous due to the SNL skit, “Cheezeborger, cheezeborger! You want a doublecheeze.”  Just a FYI, the cheeseburger themselves are thin so ordering a double is super necessary.  Next up, Fannie May which is chocolate heaven.  I was surrounded by so many different options it was hard to catch up.  Who doesn’t like chocolate though?  We even had a little to try to take home so you know I was a happy camper.

Did I mention that I also had some of the famous Garrett’s popcorn.  I mean if I am being a little foodie here why not?! So all in all we hit the main attractions.  We ate well.  We drank and was responsible so no hangovers and no visits to the hospital.  We were on our grown women level of traveling and more importantly as friends we were able to reconnect, talk crap and help each other through some difficult conversations.  We brought up some old stuff to get clarification, reconfirmed some girl rules and celebrated me and Toi’s 15th anniversary of our 21st birthday.  So as this doesn’t end #toibration but it does make it a great highlight.  The party will not stop until May 10th.  I asked some of my friends and family to send me some things about me and I will include them in my annual birthday year recap.

My favorite part was just being there.  I left the husband and kids at home, didn’t have a wake up time, no alarm, no work, and I had the choice to share my food.  I love my family and life but getting away is something I plan on making more time for.  I am an amazing mother and wife but I will be even more amazing with a little down time and play time.

My recommendation is to come to Chicago ready to eat, enjoy the scenery and the arts and expect to be wowed.  I have said and will continue to say that connecting with your friends is a must and I for one have plans to do more of this year and in the years to come.

Weekly Recap: January 12, 2018

The first recap of the year! Today is also stick to your New Year’s resolution.¬† So let’s do a check in for that.¬† I have my goals that I am working on.

Image result for keep your new year's resolution

Solo Trip?

I am in the middle of planning a get away and it looks to be more of a solo trip.¬† As much as I travel with and for friends I think embarking on a solo trip will be one of the most satisfying things that anyone can do.¬† It helps you to get back to you.¬† I think also you can do your own activities so that you don’t have to follow the crowd or hope others are on the same page as you.¬† It’s adventurous as well as scary.¬† All of these things I look forward to take on for this year. So if you’re thinking about it, make it happen.¬† I wont say where I am going or when just know it will be definitey blogged and somewhere warm!

Weight Management

As far as weight management, I have bought new equipment that can be easily be used at home to complete my workouts.  I am talking about various bands that can be used alone or with a door to help take the workouts to the next level.  I go to the gym when I am at work but the way the weather has been getting in the way, I have made sure that I leave no excuses to keeping fit.  Also I slacked off with meal prepping for myself.  I still cook for my family there is NO way around it.  However my personal meal prepping I had to jump into. This meant that I had to purchase various containers to replace the old ones and just dive in.  So far so good.  I have to go back to the market for some more fresh veggies and fruit but at least I am pushing to do it. Shout out to @cocoamommy Healthy Tips  as she has been the catalyst that I have used to step up my home gym days!  Check her article and her out as well!

Do I have other plans?  Of course I have completed my vision board and daily I look at it.  I took a picture of it and have it as my screen and I look to see what can I do to accomplish the goal daily.  This I know no matter how long it looks as if it will take, I know it will get done because I am making the goals my focus.

visionboard

So if you’re already over it, find ways to renew your mindset.¬† It’s just the second week in January and if you are set to go to the distance, you are going to have to figure some things out.

Sick Blues

So as a recap on life, I am super happy that the holiday came and they are gone.¬† I think this past Christmas was an overload.¬† I loved it but it was¬† draining.¬† This year I am saying no.¬† I am not attending as many events personally unless I truly want to.¬†I tried to push myself to be sure that I wouldn’t allow my anxiety to get the best of me, but this year I feel way better and will be fine.

I have been sick this week.¬† Luckily it wasn’t the flu but Lawd it was enough.¬† I had to be off for 2 days getting my life together.¬† I don’t normally get sick and happily it wasn’t the flu like last year.¬† Last year I was down for a week and miserable.¬† I pray that the increase of flu doesn’t hit anyone’s home and if it does it doesn’t cause more harm than necessary.¬† The flu epidemic has been on the rise causing more death than it normally has.¬† Be vigilant, practice good hand washing, and take your health seriously.

I look forward to booking some more runs, marathons etc this year.  I am full research mode to find at least 4  this year.

This weekend is going to be jammed pack with events.  I will blog as many as I can.  Other than that I will be working out and doing my Sunday run with my friends and of course finding a MLK event to go to.  The kids and I are off so between that, movies, dental appointments, and playdates-we will be chilling this weekend.  I pray you all have the best weekend and find one self-love activity for yourself!

Happy Birthday to my mom! She is celebrating her day and I hope her day is amazing!

The Art of Stress Less Packing

I love to travel. I can’t say I travel as much as I would like but when the opportunity comes I definitely take full advantage of it. Here are a few of my own personal tips that helps regardless if you’re single, married, or have kids.

1. Don’t wait until the last-minute

Sometimes this is easier said and done. We all have busy lives. However taking the time to pack ahead of time cuts down on having to detour your trip to the store to replace something you already have but forgot and not to mention saving on coins.

2. Pack the necessary things first

If you are traveling via an aircraft this is the best advice. Pack what you know without a doubt you will need first. Not all airlines allow you to travel with your bags for free so making executive decisions on what you must have and packing that first helps. After that you can decide if the extras are really worth it or not. Do you know how many people have to unpack and readjust their items to avoid that fee?!

3. Roll and pack

Rolling your items can help you pack more of the things you want and need. Often times where you are going will have an iron of some sort.

4. Make a master traveling list

I do this even for all seasons. This will help you to cross off the things you have packed, the things you need to purchase and pack or the things that you have yet to pack. This is key even with kids. During our recent quickcation I left nothing behind using this method. It felt good to have more than we needed. Checking the list off instead of just grabbing things was way more organized and saved on the stress later.

5. Pack light

There’s usually smaller versions of the things you need. Get those items instead of the home size as I call it. This is especially for hair care and hygiene. Everyone knows there are travel sections in most stores. They have made it possible even to travel with laundry detergent these days. Grab those items first. They are key in opening room for the other items you need.

6. You can’t take it all

As much as you would like to bring it all it’s not going to happen. Think about the method of your traveling. Are you going via car? Will you be with others via car? You will need to keep things to one bag to ensure room for others to store things in the trunk. Is this a family trip? Can multiple people pack in one bag? I packed the kids in on suitcase for a 3-4 day trip and it worked. Are you traveling via aircraft? You will have to limit. Think about having to push or carry these items too. The lighter the bag the less stress you allot for yourself or travel companions.

7. Pack for the events

Sometimes we just get clothes but don’t count the events you are going for. Focus on the events and pack around it. For our quickcation I packed around the pool and beach. This made it easier to make sure I had what I needed. Going for a wedding, pack around that. People have gone away for these types of events and completely forget the major needs for why they are traveling. Stay focused.

8. Be prepared

Have copies of your travel documents and identification on you. The worst thing you can do is forget these items. Bring a first aid kit. Emergencies can happen at any time. Have others who are not traveling to have copies of your travel documents that can get them to you via email. Not only that having someone be able to reach you in case of emergency is key.

9. Emergency fund

I know in some cases traveling with just enough is what happens, however having emergency money on hand is key. You never know what can take place. You need to be prepared for anything to happen. A blown tire, lost luggage, a wardrobe malfunction. These are very real events and having to depend on someone to get you through doesn’t always work. I traveled to a wedding with my daughter one time and the hotel we originally booked was horrible. I ended up having to rebook somewhere else during the holiday weekend.

10. Have options

This is key to have options for what you wear but also for what you will do. This is a digital age so you should have files designated for when you travel for what you want to do. This is key before you set out to travel. This is important even if you are meeting up with others. Nothing is worse than you not doing enough research before you travel. You should have weather alerts set up for your place of travel and with the alerts you should be prepared for a dip in weather, rain, snow, etc.
The more prepared you are ahead of time the better the over all trip will be.

Also travel with empty store bags, traveling mesh bag, etc

You can use the bags to place dirty or soiled clothes. Once you return you can take the bags to the laundry room and keep them separated from the clean ones.

Also take empty sandwich bags or storage bags to bring things home too. You will be surprised of how they can be used.

Extra tips:

1. Take or get Lysol especially if you’re going to be staying at a hotel. If you can also get a room disinfectant and a cleaner to wipes things down. This may be extreme to some but I never travel without it.

2. Pack hand sanitizer and you’re own towels and wash clothes if you can. Some even buy a cheap towel and wash cloth set to throw out at the end of their trip.

3. Pillow. It always good if you can bring your own. If not get a towel to lay over the one you will be using.

Quickcation

So I just updated my status about how I am doing during week 3. Going into week 4 I was able to enjoy some family time.

So let me start out with the issues that took place before I spin it to the positive side. For one my family took a quickcation to Wildwood, New Jersey. Yes living in Philly that’s about less than 2 hours away but hey it sure beats sitting at home. So we took this quickcation and I probably had the best time not being able to enjoy any of the rides or the attractions like I normally have in the past.

I was able to be my family’s photographer. What else was I to do? I couldn’t get on rides. I did get on the Ferris Wheel and a train that even in my healing state I could have skipped past it faster than it was going but that was it. No roller coasters and no thrill rides allowed. I was just there for the fried foods and watching my family have a great time.

Day 1, was a test. I have been spending days and nights at home in mostly a reclining chair or bed. I haven’t had the opportunity to do much else. Wildwood is a great place but the blocks of walking was really not for me. So the struggle was real.  My kids all under 9 years old didn’t leave until they were put out so I’m talking way after 1230 midnight. I had to sit down and catch my breath many times. I was even angry because my husband insisted the kids were done and then I would turn around and they were in line at yet another ride. I didn’t want the kids to feel bad for wanting to do the things I would have normally enjoyed so I walked off MANY times. I sat and collected my thoughts or contemplated going back to the hotel. However in the end I just stayed and observed. Oh and rode the Tram car.

Snapchat which I have grown to love are my favs. I literally used my time making videos. On a normal day my 3 year old occupies my Snapchat but this weekend I used it to highlight the fun that was being had. Now I wasn’t some miserable person walking around angry. I was quite the opposite. I just had to focus on the importance of making memories instead of being in my feelings. I had fun. I ate well and I enjoyed the change of scenery.

The one thing I didn’t do was go to the beach. My family doesn’t like the beach like I do. Thus like I did last year I will set off on my own personal beach adventure. So that was the pit. However overall it was a fun time.

Highlights
1.One of the highlights was watching my oldest overcome her fear of roller coasters. She was able to get on them and ride as if she had been riding her whole life. Although I didn’t ride with her I was able to film it and see her happy face every time she got off.

2. Food and drinks

I had the best food. Going to Wildwood is such a highlight in that all the fair type food you can want is literally everywhere. I enjoyed great icecream, fried Twix, as well as the “adult juice” I could handle. To say I don’t want any junk food for awhile is an understatement especially after not indulging for weeks to months at a time. I am happy to report that I have maintained my weight loss so as I heal I look forward to the gym when I am ready.

3. Body, body

I’ve never been so happy to be in my bathing suit as I was this year. Now let’s not get it twisted I wasn’t out here rocking a skinny 2 piece but I wasn’t in a choir robe either. It felt good to be out and looking good. It felt good to have confidence to be in my own skin which I have to say was doing its thing working its tan lines.

4.   Sun

You can’t always predict the weather. However I couldn’t have planned better weather.  It was a high 80 and the sun was on overload. I loved it. The sun on my chocolate skin was all that I could ask and more. We all came home shades darker.

So again the quickcation that we had was well worth it.  I enjoyed it. I enjoyed the quick get away and I look forward to more. Again I keep saying that at the end of the day Summer is here and I refuse to limit myself to not doing anything at all even if I have to work around my condition. I hope you are all enjoying your Summer.  I will continue to highlight my Summer adventures as they unfold.
